Christopher Plummer is a Canadian actor who has had a long and successful career in stage, television, and film. He is perhaps best known for his role as Captain Georg von Trapp in The Sound of Music. Plummer was born in Toronto, Ontario on December 13, 1929. He began his acting career at the age of 22 with a production of Hamlet at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.
